After a day full of exciting bowls at the Somerton Bowling Club, we have seen Woodville and Langhorne Creek take out the Men’s & Ladies events respectively.

In the men’s competition, we had the following results in the final 8:

McDonnell/Pfeiffer (Mannum) 6 – 12 Promnitz/Robertson (Salisbury)

Hocking/Kruimel (Toorak Burnside) 7 – 14 Craig/Holman (Blackwood)

Darzins/Darzins (Walkerville) 8 – 29 Davis/Meekcoms (Modbury)

Hanrahan/Haywood (Woodville) 12 – 11 Andreassen/Tonkin (Marion)

In the Semi Finals, we saw the following results:

Promnitz/Robertson (Salisbury) 22 – 6 Craig/Holman (Blackwood)

Davis/Meekcoms (Modbury) 11 – 12 Hanrahan/Haywood (Woodville)

This set up a mouthwatering final between Salisbury and Woodville, with Woodville taking out the crown 13-12 after an extra end had to decide the match when the game finished level 12-12 after 15 ends.

Meanwhile, in the ladies competition, we had the following match ups in the final 8:

Hill/Walker (Kensington Marryatville) 20 – 12 Early/Modra (Morphett Vale)

Creamer/Moffatt (Port Noarlunga) 6 – 23 Phillips/Cullen (Langhorne Creek)

McGorman/Wallace (Adelaide) 19 – 10 Cresswell/Gaunt (Holdfast)

Hutchinson/Maddern (Hahndorf) 6 – 20 Gatto/Rafferty (West Lakes)

This set up some the following semi finals:

Phillips/Cullen (Langhorne Creek) 23 – 3 Hill/Walker (Kensington Marryatville)

McGorman/Wallace (Adelaide) 15 – 3 Gatto/Rafferty (West Lakes)

This set up what was a cracking final, which saw Langhorne Creek pip Adelaide 14-11 to take out the Ladies crown.

Please note, due to a technical issue, all ladies results will be amended on BowlsLink within the coming week.

We thank all host clubs for their work this weekend, especially Somerton for taking on the finals day today.
