MGA Men’s and Women’s Country Carnivals

After further consultation with Clubs and Associations, the 2020 MGA Men’s and Women’s Country Carnivals have once again been split into their individual events. This year will see the MGA Men’s Country Carnival returning to early February.

Men’s and Women’s Country Round Robin

Men’s and Women’s Country Round Robin has been moved back into the February time-slot.

SA v VIC and U18 SA v VIC Series

The dates for the SA v VIC series to be held in South Australia are currently tentative, pending confirmation from Bowls Victoria.

Prestige Medley

Flagged over the last few years, and due to additional dates becoming available with National Event Changes, the 2019-20 Prestige Medley has been moved from the March long weekend into April. The intent is to enable Associations to complete their pennants and finals prior to the Prestige Medley.

Bowls SA’s Champions Week

2019-20 will see State Event Finals played in an 8 day ‘Champions Week’ event scheduled for April. Feedback from the last 3 years of holding Champions Week over 2 separate weeks has been mixed and, therefore, the 2019-20 season Champions Week will return to the 8 day format to be held in April.

Bowls SA’s State Champion of Champions

Member Clubs are reminded to be aware of the closing dates for these events and ensure that their Club tournaments are completed by these dates to enable their champions the opportunity to participate.

As per previous seasons, to qualify for the State Champion of Champions event, Club champions wishing to compete will need to enter the open qualifying draw which will be held in the Metropolitan area.

The finals of the Champion of Champions Singles and Pairs will be held during Bowls SA’s Champions Week.
