Does your club need that extra edge?
CLUB COACHING
In this competitive bowls environment many clubs are requesting the services of the Bowls SA Coaching Committee members to conduct Club Coaching sessions. These sessions assist many clubs during the pre-season and at other times when the club feels that its members may benefit from that little bit of extra coaching and knowledge.
Over the last few years there have been inconsistencies with the pricing structure and delivery of these sessions. During the May 2008 Coaching Committee meeting it was proposed that three models be created as a product on offer to the clubs. These three models are Video Coaching, Individual Coaching and Circuit Coaching.
All three models will be charged at a flat rate to all clubs of $100 per model, with a maximum number of bowlers for each session. Each session will all be no longer than three hours.
Please download the following
'Booking Form' and send to the address below.
Video Coaching – Maximum 15 People
- Bowlers are introduced to fault finding through video analysis
- The coach (and assistants) will record individual performances for the first hour
- The second hour will be inside the club room with a focus on fault finding
- The last hour of the session is back out on the green working on fault corrections
Individual Coaching – Maximum 10 people
This session provides a more individual approach to coaching
- Each player will have time alone with coach who will help tailor a training program/session for that individual
- While the coaching is working with an individual the other bowlers will be working on skills training on the green
- During the last hour of the session the coach will reinforce previous teaching with each bowler to assess and or assist progress
Circuit Coaching – Maximum 20 people
- The coach will manage a full green of 4-6 different circuits focusing on different skills
- The coach will demonstrate each circuit and the skills to focus on
- Every 10 minutes the participants will change drills and move on to the next drill
- The coach will assist where possible and try to work with each bowler over the time frame
If your club is interested in applying for ‘Club Coaching’ please express so in writing to the Bowls SA Coaching Committee. Please include a number of appropriate dates and times. All efforts will be made to book these sessions at times that benefit both the club, participants and the coaches.
